Can you balance your weight on one hand?

Can you fly through the air, spinning and twisting and still land on your feet?

Could you possibly even defy gravity?

Gymnastics is the perfect platform to discover just how awesome you can be…

ABOUT US

Allegro School of Gymnastics was founded in 2015 after huge demand from parents that were taught by our Head Coach Sam in local schools. It was felt that there was a need for a local gymnastics club with one strong rule in mind – to teach children quality gymnastics skills and technique, with fun and play a close second.

Our main club is based at Darrick Wood Sports Centre but due to huge popularity and success, we now have two more locations. Our second centre at Ravens Wood Sports Centre in Keston provides recreational classes and our third centre at Newstead Woods houses all four full-sized Olympic pieces and is also home to our Pre School unit.

As parents ourselves with over 20 years of parenting experience and coaches that are ex high level gymnasts, we feel that we can understand and relate to our gymnasts individual needs as children in a much more supportive and positive way whilst having the technical knowledge to ensure that all skills are taught safely and progressively.

We understand that most children are desperate to do a backflip and a somersault, but we teach the children to understand that the basic skills need to be learnt properly first and then when they are all put together the children are rewarded with the skills they have been so eager to perform.

Behaviour and discipline play a huge part inside a gym and we believe that our fair, no nonsense approach will enable every child within the class to get the very most out of each session.

Of course we want our members to enjoy their time here, and lessons will always be planned according to age and ability with fun elements, but Gymnastics is built on hard work, determination and perseverance and we truly believe that’s a path that needs to be followed and taught.

No experience is necessary, Gymnastics is a fantastic sport that lets children progress and develop at their own pace due to their own ability and sessions are planned to meet their needs. Whether you get involved for fun and friendship, or your ambition is to compete for GB, we are here to help you work towards your goals.

Children are taught here from walking through to 18 years old by coaches that are all qualified through British Gymnastics and fully DBS checked. We have some wonderful volunteers who bring a special something to the club, and with many of them being ex gymnasts themselves, they are great role models to the younger gymnasts.

We hold regular termly events including club displays and inter club competitions, our own annual’Club Championships’competition, and gymnasts will also have the opportunity to works towards a British Gymnastics proficiency award and then display their talents at our annual ‘Badge Display Day’
